Context
The Jacques Cartier bridge in Montreal is a vital link in the infrastructure as well as a prominent part of the city’s visual signature and skyline.
Design concept
The bridge is augmented with colored lighting and running lights, controlled by environmental data such as time of day, season, and traffic volume to express the pulse of the city. Individual citizens can influence the running lights to some extent by sending tweets with a specific hashtag.
